Han'afh was a power-hungry hra'vakh who masterminded both of the Chf dynasty conspiracies. Newly crowned king Chf'banakh was his puppet in the first conspiracy, and his son Han'tokh was his puppet in the second. Though never proven, he is thought to be one of the few individuals that showcased the ability to persuade using telepathic influence.

Hatred for the Chf family explained

Hypocritical sexual deviancy

Afh not only hated the Chf family, but he hated the customs of the "savage" Tribals. In his compiled writings, E utho ep iah rihope <The Diary of a Madman>, one of his essays details all of the atrocities committed by the Tribals, the foremost of which he considered to be customary incest. Nevertheless, as a young man he raped his sister Ima at his father's behest when she was bathing. This happened numerous times in numerous situations. In a strange turn of events, most likely through a variation of Stockholm syndrome, Ima grew closer to him, and they eventually wed in secret. Being a marriage not officially recognized by the Ipf'akh, they technically weren't committing any overt crimes.

Psychologists posited in E utho that Afh's hatred of the Tribals' frequent customary incest stemmed from his guilt at raping his beloved sister, and yet he justified his hypocrisy in one of his letters, written before the First Conspiracy:

You ask me how I can hate the fact that the savages [that is, the tribals] lie with their siblings, unlike even the filthiest animals, and yet I still lie with my sister? The answer is clear to the both of us! Though we share the same blood, we ceased to be siblings the day she begged me to bed with her. I vindicate my actions, for I was put to the unfortunate task of--I shudder at the word--raping her by my father, but she saw that I meant nothing ill in the action after she conceived. I was gentle and kind in my molestation, and she grew to see it as a genuine love. No, we are no longer siblings, for she is my lover, and I am hers.
